
Maria joined the Metropolis Board in 2023, bringing over 25 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising and management, with a focus on health and social services. She holds a BFA in Theatre from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an MA in Speech and Language Pathology from Indiana University Bloomington.
A longtime resident of Arlington Heights, Maria’s connection to Metropolis is deeply personal. She and her family have been longtime patrons of the theater, and it holds a special place in their hearts as a favorite destination of her late mother, who cherished the magic of live performance.
Motivated by a desire to give back, Maria devotes her free time to volunteering as a nonprofit mentor and actively engages with the community. She is excited to contribute her fundraising expertise to support Metropolis in its growth and success.
Maria currently serves as the elected Supervisor of Wheeling Township, where she leads with a focus on accessible services, fiscal responsibility, and community-centered leadership.
