For 25 years, Metropolis Performing Arts Centre has played a starring role in the cultural life of Arlington Heights. Hailed as the cultural heartbeat of our community, Metropolis delivers award-winning theatre, an eclectic mix of professional entertainment, dynamic community engagement programs, and comprehensive arts education to thousands of students each year.

While this season proves to be full of joy, excitement, and heart, the tremendous work onstage is only part of the story. Former Mayor Arlene J. Mulder, one of Metropolis’s earliest and most dedicated champions, understood the profound role the arts play in community life. She envisioned Metropolis as a beacon of creativity and connection for Arlington Heights and beyond.

Today, as theaters across the country face financial hardships, Metropolis has launched the Arlene J. Mulder Campaign to honor her vision and ensure that Metropolis Performing Arts Centre remains strong for generations to come. The campaign helps sustain the high-quality productions audiences love, while also supporting the School of the Performing Arts, which nurtures students of all ages in acting, music, dance, and improvisation. For countless students, Metropolis is the first place they discover their talent, build confidence, and find an artistic home.
