For 25 years, Metropolis Performing Arts Centre has played a starring role in the cultural life of Arlington Heights. Hailed as the cultural heartbeat of our community, Metropolis delivers award-winning theatre, an eclectic mix of professional entertainment, dynamic community engagement programs, and comprehensive arts education to thousands of students each year.
But our mission goes far beyond the stage. The School of the Performing Arts ignites the stars of tomorrow, and our growing network of community partnerships ensures the performing arts are accessible to people of all ages and abilities.
Imagine what our community would be like without Metropolis! None of this would have been possible without the foresight and unwavering support of Mayor Arlene J. Mulder—the original “Mayor Behind Metropolis.” A champion from day one, Mayor Mulder called Metropolis “a tremendous asset to our community,” and her advocacy helped turn a dream into reality.
To mark our 25th Anniversary and honor Mayor Mulder’s vision and service, Metropolis is proud to launch a 25-week campaign to name the Metropolis Box Office in her honor. Our goal is to raise $250,000, with proceeds going toward:
- Theatrical and stage improvements, including acoustic panels and sound reinforcements.
- Continued investment in high-quality professional productions.
Your generous, tax-deductible donation to the Arlene Mulder Legacy Campaign keeps her vision alive and helps Metropolis thrive for the next 25 years!
Together, we can ensure Metropolis continues to inspire, educate, and entertain — just as Mayor Mulder imagined.
Thank you for your support and for helping us celebrate the legacy of a true community visionary.
