Middle-aged Joe Boyd, ultimate Washington Senators’ fan, proclaims that he’d sell his soul if only his beloved Sens could fi nd the long-ball hitter able to lead them to a World Series Championship.

Enter Mr. Applegate, a charmer with powerful means and a powerful contract – “give me your soul, and I’ll turn you into the superstar you desire.” Being a salesman himself, Joe bargains for a loophole that’ll allow him to lead the Senators to the Pennant and still get home to his wife, as long as he leaves the team before the last day of the season. Applegate agrees to the demand with a wink and a smile; then again you’d smile too if your bullpen featured the ultimate closer – the infamous Lola. Remember, whatever Lola wants… Lola gets.
