“I live in a crazy time,” Anne notes in her beloved diary, but “I don’t think of all the misery but the beauty that still remains.” It is this strength of character and positive spirit that guided Anne and her family during all the turmoil of World War II. Metropolis begins a new annual tradition as we bring The Diary of Anne Frank to the stage again this year. It’s an amazing tale told through the eyes of a bright, young girl who was not quite ready to give up on the world because she believed that “people really are good at heart.” Recommended for grades 5-12.
