Support Metropolis

We cannot do this alone. As with all performing arts centers, ticket Sales contribute only a portion of what it takes to operate this not-for-profit Organization and fund  all of the programs metropolis offers to the community. With the generous support of friends like you, we will continue to serve The families and communities of the northwest suburbs for years to come.

Metropolis in the Community

We’ve come along way since we opened our doors in April of 2000. In that short time Metropolis has grown to be ranked the 10th Largest Theatre in Chicago by the League of Chicago Theaters in yearly attendance.

Each year over 70,000 patrons pass through our doors to experience one of the 50-plus artists or shows we offer in over 400 performances. Performances that range from drama to comedy, music to dancing, family programming to after-dark shows, national headliners to local schools. But, Metropolis is much more than just an entertainment venue. Metropolis also:

  • Serves thousands of students from 2-years-old to 92-years-young through its School of the Performing Arts.
  • Provides special programs for mentally and physically challenged children and adults.
  • Offers a nationally recognized award-winning program for senior citizens.
  • Hosts over 12,000 students annually through its Stories In Action Series.
  • Collaborates with more than 900 area teachers and 150 schools through its teacher programs.
  • Donates its time in mentoring, internships, young playwright festivals and school speaking engagements.
  • Generates an estimated over $4 million in related income to the downtown Arlington Heights’ economy.

Metropolis is vital. The theater serves and enhances the quality of life for all citizens in the Northwest suburbs."

- Mayor Arlene J. Mulder
