Testimonials
In the 2008-09 year, Metropolis Outreach reached over 5,800 participants and partnered with 53 school, park or community partners. Programs reach as far north as Gurnee, west to Aurora, south to Oak Lawn and everywhere in between!
Hear what some group leaders had to say about their experiences with Metropolis Outreach:
“Working with Metropolis Outreach to create this program has been an outstanding experience. The professionalism, collaboration, skill and enthusiasm have been without equal. We are very hopeful that we can continue and expand these programs to all nine schools in the district. Thank you so very much for your tremendous contribution to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of the students in Arlington Heights School District 25.”
Dr. Sarah Jerome, Superintendent, Arlington Heights School District 25
“Metropolis eagerly teamed up with NWSRA to provide this quality acting program for individuals with special needs. The Metropolis professional drama teachers, NWSRA staff, participants and parents have expressed their delight and pleasure with these programs. Parents have commented that their child is more independent and verbal as a result of participating in the acting classes. The goal of providing individuals with special needs the experience of the arts through both individual and group participation has certainly been met.”
Sue Huckstadt, Manager of Special Recreation, NWSRA
“I knew it would be beneficial for our students to be taught by working professionals, but I had no idea that by integrating Metropolis our students would be offered so many opportunities! In just one semester the dancers have already had a chance to see a professional musical production, take part in a workshop with a well-known choreographer and are being offered travel and performance opportunities that we never would have dreamed of! Our involvement with Metropolis has opened many doors for our students.”
Donna Martin, Fine Arts Chair & Teacher, St. Scholastica Academy
