Featured Sample Programs


These are just a few examples of the many exciting collaborations that are currently taking place throughout the Chicago area.


Acting 101 – Students at Prescott School in Chicago are being treated to a highly energetic program that explores various components of acting, including theatre games and improvisation.

BLAST (Breathing Live Art into Science Together) – This unique collaboration with Paddock Elementary in Palatine has a team of Outreach Artists working closely with teachers of all grades to integrate drama and movement into a science curriculum. Themes being explored are: Weather, Astronomy, Government, and Life Cycles.

Flourish in the Footlights – Special needs participants from Arlington Pediatric Therapy immerse themselves into the world of theatre by taking part in several months of acting instruction, followed by a Spring production held on the Metropolis main stage!

Making Music – Chicago International Charter Schools (Prairie, Loomis, and Avalon) are providing their students with plenty of choices as they get to take part in beginning ballet or tap class; learn to play the violin; or sing, dance, AND act in an exciting musical theatre class.

Musical Instrument Petting Zoo
– Who ever heard of a zoo at a library? Northfield Library will be hosting a zoo of a different kind – one with instruments! In this 90-minute workshop, children and adults will be provided an opportunity to experience classical music in a hands-on setting.


Puppets and Masques
– CICS-Prairie students are applying their wonderful creativity to mask making!


Social Serving Learning: Using the Arts to Affect Change
– An extra-curricular experience, this 9-week program with West Park Academy in Chicago not only asks students to identify, explore, and resolve issues relevant to them, but challenges them to creatively share these experiences with members of their community.
