Spring Music Festival

Join us for your chance to perform for adjudicators from all over the Chicago area and receive honor and feedback on your work. This is the perfect opportunity for beginner - advanced level students to perform, have their work critiqued and be rewarded for all their hard work and discipline. Register today - spaces are limited!

Check-in begins at 8:00am
Adjudicated performances between 9:00am and 12:30pm

Festival Details
  • Students may perform solo, in an ensemble or both
  • $15 registration fee per event (paid at festival upon check-in)
  • Students must check-in 30 minutes prior to their performance time (ensembles must check-in together)
  • Students will be divided by instrument and ability level
  • Students will perform a 5 minute selection for a panel of judges
  • Performances may consist of 1 or 2 short pieces, 1 movement of a sonata or concerto, or one 5 minute selection
  • Accompanists are not mandatory, but if you wish to perform with an accompanist, you must make your own arrangements. Contact Lesley Swanson at lswanson@metropolisarts.com or 847.577.5982 x240 for a list of recommended accompanists.
  • A schedule of performance times will be posted on March 28th at the School and on the School’s blog at www.metropolisarts.com/sopanews
  • Judges will provide written comments and an overall rating for each performance
