Drama School

Fall 2008

Acting

The Acting Program improves the actor’s ability to grow within ensembles and as an individual artist. Through varied approaches that include games, exploratory exercises, theories, script work and performance opportunity, our young actors gain self awareness, confidence, and work toward mastering a set of skills that are valuable and fun.

Music Theatre

The Musical Theatre Program provides our students with an opportunity to truly hone their skills as musicians, singers, actors and dancers. Through this program, students will be able to build as an ensemble, as well as hone their music reading skills, gain self-confidence and be exposed to a wide variety of lyricists, styles of music and choreography.

Theatre Games

Theatre games is the perfect class for new students to build a solid theatre foundation and for experienced students to refine theatrical skills. This is a high-energy class in a fun and safe environment for students to play in. Class can be taken on a drop-in basis.

Trouping Performers

This class is an absolute must for students who want to work on their performance skills. With a strong focus on ensemble, students will work together with their instructor to create a performance piece and then travel with it to perform throughout the community.

The Theatre Experience

Seven of the 17 classes in this session will be spent actually watching productions in the Chicagoland area. Theaters may include shows at the Goodman Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre, Metropolis Performing Arts Centre and other professional Chicago Theatres. The other 10 classes will be fun, interactive group discussions about the plays viewed, script work, scene work and more.

Adult Theatre Ensemble

For the working actor, director, playwright or production member who would like to gain more experience honing their skills and developing projects in a safe, workshop setting. This is an opportunity to get more in-depth with your craft while working as an ensemble with other peers in the industry.

Monday Night Drama Series Ages 18+

On the first Monday of every month, hone your theatre skills! This is a great opportunity for the busy adult who still seeks time to be creative, have fun and meet new people. All skill levels are welcome!
