Robin M. Hughes is in her ninth season with Metropolis. As Resident Casting Director, Robin has cast over 40 Metropolis shows. At Metropolis Robin has also appeared in Noises Off, Cabaret, A Christmas Carol, To Kill A Mockingbird, Vagina Monologues, Over the Tavern, Hellcab, and High School Musical. Metropolis directing credits include Pump Boys & Dinettes; Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat; Musical of Musicals - The Musical; The Wiz; Another Tomorrow; A Christmas Carol (‘04, ’05 & ‘06); A Secret Garden; Steel Magnolias; Peter Pan; Charlotte’s Web; and You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown. Regional Minneapolis acting credits include Dancing at Lughnasa (Theatre in the Round), A Christmas Carol (New Tradition), Meet Me in St. Louis (Phipps Center), Opal (Refreshment Committee), Steel Magnolias (Seasons), Into the Woods (Metropolitan), and The Rover (Guthrie). Also at the Guthrie, Robin worked with Joanne Akalaitis on the world premiere of The Screens and with the Goodman’s Robert Falls on Pravda. Notable Chicago credits include Ballad of Little Joe, Ice Cream, Orson's Shadow u.s., Whispering City u.s. (Steppenwolf), Four Places u.s. (Victory Gardens), Seamarks (Mary-Arrchie), All the Way Home (Griffin), Murder Americana (Circle), Student Prince and Countess Maritza (Light Opera Works), Sappho In Love (Bailiwick), Les Liaisons Dangereuses (Bowen Park), Lusting After Pipino’s Wife (New Millennium) and Doll’s House and Toys in the Attic (Dominican). She was awarded Steppenwolf’s Acting Fellowship and worked with Anna Shapiro (Side Man), John Malkovich (Hysteria) and Terry Kinney (One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest), which went on to Broadway and the Barbican. Robin is a member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society and an Actor’s Equity Candidate. Robin has been a teacher of theatre for 20 years and also a core faculty member for the Metropolis School of the Performing Arts for the past seven years. She is also an honors graduate of Concordia University-St. Paul (B.A.-Theatre, English; Music minor), Illinois State University (MFA-Acting) and the Steppenwolf School.

Kristen Gurbach Jacobson is a performer, educator and youth arts manager. She studied at Point Park University’s Conservatory of Performing Arts, receiving a BA in Musical Theatre, a Minor in Dance and a Concentration in Education. Since then her work has taken her to Pittsburgh: Pittsburgh Musical Theatre, DanceTime Studio, LABCO Contemporary Dance Company; Cleveland: Beck Center for Performing Arts, Willoughby Fine Arts; and Chicago: Chicago Human Rhythm Project, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Free Street, Metropolis. Kristen’s performance credits include conservatory and regional shows throughout the Midwest. Favorite performance credits include: On the Town, Nine, A Chorus Line, Tesla’s Letters, Two Gentlemen, Sweeney Todd, and Into the Woods. Kristen choreographs for youth productions and professionally throughout Chicago. Choreography credits at Metropolis include I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change; You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown; The Secret Garden; A Christmas Carol; The Wiz; and High School Musical. She recently received an MA in Arts in Youth and Community Development at Columbia College Chicago. Currently, Kristen has stepped into the role of Outreach Manager at the Metropolis School of Performing Arts. This position has allowed Kristen to design and implement in- and after-school programs at schools and organizations throughout the community. Kristen also teaches dance and theatre at Metropolis and throughout Chicagoland.

Steve Leaver, Artistic Director of Imagination Theater Steve has been a Drama teacher at Metropolis since 2002. He also has worked with Imagination Theater since 1997 and has been the Artistic Director with the company since 2001. He oversees all of the programming at the theater and also leads staff development workshops and customized programming for schools. Steve has worked as a professional actor with many theaters in and around the Chicago area. He holds a BS in theater from Illinois State University.
