InternshipsThe Metropolis internship program is an integral part of our professional functionality and the key principle of our dedication to education. Our intent is to best prepare our interns for the challenges of the performing arts industry and supply that industry with confident, able and educated job candidates. Our goal is to train those we would wish to hire. Internships are available for college students, college graduates and adults, and require a minimum of 20 hours per week. All internships are unpaid, but available for school credit. Download the internship application here. Arts Management Internship Responsible for assisting the Executive Director in development and operation of the performing arts centre. Assistant Stage Manager Internship Responsible for assisting the High School Performance Experience Director in all aspects of stage production including, but not limited to, stage direction, character development, and line cues. Business Operations Intern Responsible for assisting the Business Manager in budgeting, accounting, organizing operations systems, and performing systems research. Camp Administration Intern Responsible for assisting the Camp Director in development and operation of the camps and camp showcases. Casting Intern Responsible for assisting the Casting Director and Production Manager in all aspects of casting including, but not limited to, auditions and callbacks. Education Administration Intern Responsible for assisting the Education Director in development and operation of the classes, children’s productions, workshops, career shadowing events, showcases, and other education department sponsored programs. Education Outreach Intern Responsible for assisting the Outreach Manager in development and operation of all Outreach Program activities including Metropolis Arts Partner residencies, Metropolis Arts Collaborator residencies, one-day workshops, off-site events, career mentoring, and the Internship and Apprentice program. Education Teaching Intern Responsible for assisting the Education Director in development and operation of the classes, showcases, children’s productions, workshops, career shadowing events, and other education department sponsored programs. Marketing Intern Responsible for assisting the Marketing department in development and promotion of all productions and Metropolis sponsored events. Music Education Administration Intern Responsible for assisting the Music School Manager in the direction of the faculty, educational programming, and overall smooth functionality of the music school. Production Management Intern Responsible for assisting the Production Manager in development and management of technical and organizational aspects of all productions. SOPA Camp Technical Internship Responsible for assisting the Technical Director and Production Manager in all aspects of technical theatre including, but not limited to, lighting, sound and carpentry. Special Events/Development Intern Responsible for assisting the Director of Development and Special Events Manager in donor services, fundraising communications and effective planning and smooth execution of all Metropolis Special Events. Technical Internship Responsible for assisting the Technical Director and Production Manager in all aspects of technical theatre including, but not limited to, lighting, sound and carpentry. Video Production Intern Responsible for assisting the Marketing department in development and production of short television spots and other multimedia promotions.
