Thomas O'Rourke, Acting President
Tom retired from educational administration in 2011, following his position as Principal of Thomas Middle School in Arlington Heights for ten years. He has recently rekindled his career in education taking on a different vantage point as the Human Resources Coordinator in Mount Prospect School District 57. While running school buildings in an urban environment - 24 years in Waukegan - and in the suburbs, Tom's focus was building community connections to foster a learning environment of investigation, strong commitment and great fun. Tom has been successful in all levels of K-12 education, in grant writing and execution, and as an advocate of experiential learning. Tom moved to Arlington Heights in 2011. He has always participated in the communities he has resided in, and, prior to joining the Metropolis Board, was pleased to work with so many wonderful people on the Arlington Heights' Quasquicentennial celebration. Tom believes the importance of the performing arts in our lives can't be understated and that live performance is to be cherished. Metropolis is ours to nurture and grow!

Carl R. Anfenson, Treasurer
Senior Vice President, MB Financial Bank N.A.
With a 20-year career as a commercial and community banker, Carl is senior vice-president for MB Financial Bank. Carl is very active in the local community. In addition to the Metropolis, he serves on the Board of the District 214 Community Education Foundation, is an appointed member of the Arlington Heights Zoning Board of Appeals, and has been an active participant in the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce. He graduated with an MBA from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business, and an undergraduate degree from Indiana’s Kelley School of Business. Carl was born and raised in Arlington Heights, and returned in 2001 to live with his wife, Sharon, and three children. Metropolis season subscriber for many years. Children are active students in the Metropolis School of Performing Arts. Member of the Metropolis Bayou Bash and the Metropolis Olympics fundraiser committees.

Kathy Grossman, Secretary
Former Global Project Manager, Mercer
Kathy has more than 20 years of experience in accounting, finance and project management, most recently with Mercer. She is a CPA with a BS in Accountancy from the University of Illinois and an MBA from Southern Methodist University. She and her family have resided in Arlington Heights since 1998 and have been subscribers to the Metropolis Performing Arts Centre since its inaugural season. She has been an active volunteer in the community, holding officer or committee chair positions in the Hersey High School choral and band organizations and the Thomas and Olive School PTAs.

Denise Boklach Beihoffer
First Vice President – Legal, Equity Residential

Denise is in-house counsel at Equity Residential, an S&P 500 company focused on the acquisition, development and management of high quality apartment properties in top U.S. growth markets. Denise is a graduate of Oklahoma State University and received her J.D. with highest honors from the University of Oklahoma School of Law. She and her husband, Tom, have lived in Arlington Heights since 1994, and have been subscribers and donors at Metropolis Performing Arts Centre since its inaugural season. For several years, Denise has served on the steering committees for a number of Metropolis fundraisers including the annual Gala and the Sunday Soiree. Denise’s three children participate in performing arts camps and take classes at the Metropolis School of the Performing Arts, and she frequently volunteers at the District 25 schools her children attend. Denise and her family are active members of First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights.

Dori Bonder
Dori was born in Chicago. She graduated from Alverno College with a BA in English, and completed her Masters in Special Education with Dominican University. She was a teacher for 20 plus years, including right here in Arlington Heights, and loves bringing the arts to children in any way possible. She was previously a member of St. Viator HS Board of Trustees, St. Raymond School Board, Arlington Heights Junior Women’s Club, Arlington Heights Historical Society, and Northwest Community Hospital’s Fashion Show/Luncheon committee. She was married to the late Ken Bonder, is the mother of two and grandmother of five. Ms. Bonder believes that Metropolis is one of the highlights of Arlington Heights and considers it a great gift to be treasured.

Carol Cohen
Executive Director, Haven Theatre Company
Carol is the Executive Director of the Haven Theatre Company of Chicago, which was described by Chris Jones of the Chicago Tribune as "nascent, but impressive", and "one of Chicago's must-follow theater companies" by The Front Row Theater Blog. Carol attended Columbia College of Chicago majoring in Theater with concentrations in Costume Design, Dramatury, and Theater Management.  Over the course of her career, Carol has either produced, costumed or directed over 50 theatrical productions.  Carol was very active in local school board issues, and served on the Marketing Committee for the Lake Zurich District 95 Referendum Committee which was successful in passing a referendum that allowed the Lake Zurich High School Performing Arts Center to be funded and built.  Past board experience includes the CUSD 95 Referendum Committee and the Farmington Bath and Tennis Club, as well as serving as PTO President for several years. Carol lives in Kildeer and is the mother of two grown sons, and the grandmother of one.

Chris Dungan
President of Corporate & Business Development, PACK Pharmaceuticals
A 20+ year veteran in developing and implementing sales strategies and initiatives within the generic pharmaceutical industry, Chris is a Founder and President of PACK Pharmaceuticals located in Buffalo Grove, IL. He began his business career in 1990, working in marketing and sales for a generic pharmaceutical subsidiary of Akzo-Nobel and has held executive positions in sales and marketing with several US based pharmaceutical companies. In early 2003, Chris co-founded Pharmaceutical Sales Consultants, LLC and later co-founded PACK Pharmaceuticals, LLC. Chris earned his B.S. in Business Marketing from Eastern Illinois University. Chris grew up in Northbrook, IL and now lives in Arlington Heights with his wife Sue and two children. Chris enjoys being involved at Metropolis by serving on several committees as well as being a subscriber through the Marquee Program, where he has the opportunity to meet and socialize with other supporters, staff, and casts of Metropolis.

Adam Faust
Vice President of Investment Advisory and Financial Planning, Mesirow
Adam, of Mesirow Financial, has spent the last 15 years in financial and retirement planning. He currently works with families and small businesses in the North Suburbs. Adam is an active golfer and member of the Chicago Curling Club. He did his undergraduate at Texas and professional studies with Kellogg. Adam’s claim to fame is a stint singing back-up for Kenny Rogers in the 90s.

Gary L. Gephart
Assistant Vice President – Finance, NorthShore University HealthSystem

Gary and his late wife, Linda, moved to Arlington Heights from Wisconsin in 1977. They were active leaders in the Boy Scouts of America program (Troop 32 and Pack 169) with their son, Geoffrey. Gary is a CPA and has a MS degree in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He has worked in the not-for-profit healthcare industry for the past 30+ years. He is currently an active volunteer with his local church, St. John UCC, and with The Night Ministry in Chicago. Gary is an avid theatergoer and has been attending Metropolis events from day one.

Lisa Goranson Gilbert
Membership Director, Schaumburg Business Association
Lisa is a lifelong resident of Arlington Heights, having attended Patton Elementary, Thomas Middle School, and John Hersey High School. She is the Membership Director at the Schaumburg Business Association after spending the last nine years at the University Club of Chicago. Her past arts involvement includes the Swedish American Museum Center and Lookingglass Theatre, both in Chicago. She is active in the Arlington Heights Junior Woman’s Club having just completed the term of President. She did her undergraduate work at Indiana University in Bloomington and received a Masters degree from Columbia College Chicago in Arts, Entertainment and Media Management. Lisa lives in Arlington Heights with her husband Colin and son Henry.

Jason Kuhl
Executive Director, Arlington Heights Memorial Library

Jason has been a resident of Arlington Heights since 2008. Holding a B.A. in Art History from Illinois State University and an M.S. in Library and Information Science from University of Illinois, he has nearly 20 years of experience in public libraries and and has written and spoken nationally on library issues. Kuhl lives in the Berkely Square neighborhood with his wife and two young children and is a charter member of the Arlington Heights Sunset Rotary Club.

Dina Skinner
Owner, Meritage Realty Group

Dina and her husband were raised and currently reside in Arlington Heights along with their 3 children. They jointly own Meritage Realty Group, a full service real estate company, which is located in the heart of downtown Arlington Heights. Dina began her business career while attending college in 1987 with United Airlines. During the this time she developed strategic plans to maximize revenues with space planning of their aircrafts. She has a broad-base experience in the execution of increasingly complex responsibilities among various disciplines: marketing sales, territorial management, strategic planning, and relationship building. She possess a high energy level, a positive attitude, and is result driven. Dina feels that the Metropolis Theater offers a wonderful experience to all of our residents, businesses, and surrounding communities.

Joseph P. Quinn
Vice President, Regional Sales Manger, BMO Harris Bank N.A.

Joseph has more than 15 years in the financial services industry in the banking, insurance, and automotive disciplines. Joe received his BS in Finance from Northeastern Illinois University. Joe and his wife Vanessa love visiting Metropolis and live in Palatine with their children Riley, Nolan, and Greyson. Joe is very active within his local community and has served on numerous boards and committees. Currently Joe serves as: Chairman of the Board for the Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce, member and previous VP of the Palatine Jaycees, serves on two committees for the Harper College Education Foundation Board, and was formerly Vice-President of the Palatine Library Education Foundation.

Neil Scheufler - Ex-Officio

Neil is thrilled to be returning to Metropolis after serving as its Special Events manager. Neil came to Metropolis after 35 years of experience in the business world having held positions in Marketing and Finance. He would like to thank the incredible staff and Board of Directors at Metropolis and his family for their tremendous support for his love of the arts.
