Phil Collins, Board President Assistant Superintendent for Student Achievement, Glenview School District #34 Collins, Assistant Superintendent in Glenview for the past 5 years, previously held the position of Principal at Westgate School in Arlington Heights. He has resided in Arlington Heights for the last 11 years and has been an active participant in the ABC 25 Foundation, a member of the Arlington Heights Youth Commission, and is an active member of the Rotary Club. Tom Southall, Vice President President, Commercial Construction Products, North America, ITW Southall, a Group President for ITW in Glenview, has resided in Arlington Heights for 11 years with his wife Janet and their two children. He has been involved with Omni Youth Services as Board member and Board President, the Lake County Haven as Board Member, the Arlington Heights Athletic Association, St. James school, and currently serves on the Advancement Committee for St. Viator High School. He holds a B.S. from Canisius College and an M.B.A. from Loyola University. He is a member of the Deans’ Board of Advisors for Loyola’s School of Business. Frank Lee, Board Treasurer Partner, Weiss & Company LLP Lee, a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Valuation Analyst, is a partner in the accounting firm Weiss & Company with offices in Glenview, IL. He has been a resident of Arlington Heights for 34 years and has served the community as a board member of Frontier Days, Faith Community Homes, Christmas in April and past chair of the Arlington Heights Housing Commission. Elizabeth S. O’Kelly, Secretary Of Counsel, Drost Kivlahan McMahon & O’Connor LLC O’Kelly, an Arlington Heights resident for 18 years, is an attorney with Drost Kivlahan McMahon & O’Connor in downtown Arlington Heights, where she concentrates in corporate and health care law. She has been a volunteer or board member with the Dryden PTA, Arlington Heights Memorial Library, Cub Scouts, BUZZ and various health care law organizations. Carl R. Anfenson Senior Vice President, MB Financial Bank N.A. With a 20-year career as a commercial and community banker, Carl is senior vice-president for MB Financial Bank. Carl is very active in the local community. In addition to the Metropolis, he serves on the Board of the District 214 Community Education Foundation, is an appointed member of the Arlington Heights Zoning Board of Appeals, and has been an active participant in the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce. He graduated with an MBA from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business, and an undergraduate degree from Indiana’s Kelley School of Business. Carl was born and raised in Arlington Heights, and returned in 2001 to live with his wife, Sharon, and three children. Metropolis season subscriber for many years. Children are active students in the Metropolis School of Performing Arts. Member of the Metropolis Bayou Bash and the Metropolis Olympics fundraiser committees. Denise Boklach Beihoffer First Vice President – Legal, Equity Residential Denise is in-house counsel at Equity Residential, an S&P 500 company focused on the acquisition, development and management of high quality apartment properties in top U.S. growth markets. Denise is a graduate of Oklahoma State University and received her J.D. with highest honors from the University of Oklahoma School of Law. She and her husband, Tom, have lived in Arlington Heights since 1994, and have been subscribers and donors at Metropolis Performing Arts Centre since its inaugural season. For several years, Denise has served on the steering committees for a number of Metropolis fundraisers including the annual Gala and the Sunday Soiree. Denise’s three children participate in performing arts camps and take classes at the Metropolis School of the Performing Arts, and she frequently volunteers at the District 25 schools her children attend. Denise and her family are active members of First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights. Dori Bonder Ms. Bonder was born in Chicago. She graduated from Alverno College with a BA in English, and completed her Masters in Special Education with Dominican University. She was a teacher for 20 plus years, including right here in Arlington Heights, and loves bringing the arts to children in any way possible. She was previously a member of St. Viator HS Board of Trustees, St. Raymond School Board, Arlington Heights Junior Women’s Club, Arlington Heights Historical Society, and Northwest Community Hospital’s Fashion Show/Luncheon committee. She was married to the late Ken Bonder, is the mother of two and grandmother of five. Ms. Bonder believes that Metropolis is one of the highlights of Arlington Heights and considers it a great gift to be treasured. Adam Faust Vice President of Investment Advisory and Financial Planning, Mesirow Faust, of Mesirow Financial, has spent the last 15 years in financial and retirement planning. He currently works with families and small businesses in the North Suburbs. Adam is an active golfer and member of the Chicago Curling Club. He did his undergraduate at Texas and professional studies with Kellogg. Adam’s claim to fame is a stint singing back-up for Kenny Rogers in the 90s. Kathy Grossman Former Global Project Manager, Mercer Kathy has more than 20 years of experience in accounting, finance and project management, most recently with Mercer. She is a CPA with a BS in Accountancy from the University of Illinois and an MBA from Southern Methodist University. She and her family have resided in Arlington Heights since 1998 and have been subscribers to the Metropolis Performing Arts Centre since its inaugural season. She has been an active volunteer in the community, holding officer or committee chair positions in the Hersey High School choral and band organizations and the Thomas and Olive School PTAs. David Ives Former President and Owner, The Townsend Agency Ives spent over 25 years in the advertising industry as President/Owner of the Townsend Agency, which he sold in late 2007. He has be a resident of Arlington Heights for 28 years and has been involved in numerous community activities, including serving as Honorary Chairman of the Matthew Ives Memorial Track. He is currently “on sabbatical” focusing on creative and volunteer consulting. Joe Lynn Vice President of Worldwide Technology, The Northern Trust Company Mr Lynn, an executive with The Northern Trust, is a longtime resident of Arlington Heights and the northwest suburbs. He served for 5 years as a Director and Vice President of the ABC/25 Foundation, was active in the PTA at Westgate Elementary School, and is a member of the Project Management Institute. Lynn is also the producer and co-host of the award-winning Cheap Date podcast, as well as The Greater Woodfield Chicago Northwest Convention Bureau's podcast, Discover Woodfield. Mr Lynn lives in Arlington Heights with his daughters and his wife, Lisa. Tom Mannard Retained Executive Search Tom has been a resident of Arlington Heights for 40 years and recently bought a home in Prospect Heights. He spent the first 25 years of his career working in Human Resources with companies like ITW and Tenneco and the last 20 years in Retained Executive Search for his own firm. He has taught Personal Management classes at Roosevelt University at the undergraduate and graduate levels and volunteers in a variety of way in the area of helping people in their job search. He received his Bachelors in Psychology and his Masters in Human Resources from Loyola University of Chicago. He is a parishioner at St. Ednas, happily married to Kathy for 47 years and a proud father of 4 and grandfather of 9. Gary L. McClung Mr. McClung has over 40 years of experience in compensation and benefit consulting, human resource management, retirement planning and financial counseling. From 1991 to 1993, he was a vice president and executive financial counselor with the counseling firm of Brownson, Rehmus & Foxworth in Chicago. He was an author and presenter of the highly successful Chicago Title and Trust Retirement Planning Program, which was presented to several thousand of the firm’s employees between 1994 and 1999. McClung received an undergraduate degree in Mathematics from the University of Illinois and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business. He is a Past President of the Human Resources Management Association of Chicago (HRMAC), he holds the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation from the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado and currently serves as a Trustee of the $75 million Police Pension Fund of the Village of Arlington Heights, Illinois. Robert Y. Paddock, Jr. Executive Vice President - Vice Chairman, Daily Herald, Reflejos, and beepcentral.com Paddock, Executive Vice President of Daily Herald, has 30 years of experience in a wide variety of charitable, educational, professional, and business associations throughout the suburbs and Chicago. Young, President of Young & Associates, Ltd., a marketing management consulting company serving mid-market to global fifty firms, is also an Adjunct Professor of Marketing at The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business Executive Program in Strategic Sales Management. He has 20 years of senior sales and marketing experience for two NYSE companies’ divisions, including Gibson Guitars, Conn Band Instruments and Wurlitzer Pianos. He is also currently a member of the DePaul University School of Music Advisory Board. Charlie Beck - Ex-Officio Metropolis Executive Director Charlie is a long time resident of the Arlington Heights area. He attended Prospect High School in the early 70s where his passion for performing arts was inspired. He continued studying the arts as a student at Southern Illinois University, eventually obtaining a B.S. in Speech Communications specializing in Public Relations with minor degrees in Theatre Arts and Journalism. He began a career in the pharmaceutical industry upon graduation and spent the next 20 plus years advancing in greater responsibilities in sales and marketing, eventually opening his own consulting firm which produced marketing programs for many of the top 10 U.S. drug companies. In the late 90s, he decided to return to his first calling and sold his business to pursue a career as an actor. For the ensuing decade, he appeared in over 30 professional productions in the Chicago area including stints at Metropolis as well as roles in a variety of feature films, and television spots. He currently resides in Palatine and brings a strong combination of business experience and arts passion to his role as Executive Director. |
