Stephen Daday, President

Partner at Klein, Daday, Aretos & O'Donoghue, LLC

Stephen G. Daday joined Klein, Daday, Aretos & O’Donoghue, LLC as a partner in 1987, and shortly after, established the civil litigation and mortgage foreclosure departments. KDAO also handles transactional matters including commercial and residential real estate, leasing, and loan documentation. Mr. Daday earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and International Relations from the University of Notre Dame in 1977 and earned his Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School in 1980. Mr. Daday is honored to join the Metropolis Board of Directors after serving as an Arlington Heights Village Trustee from 1989 to 2005.

 

Colleen Ungurean, Vice President

Occupational Therapist, Clare Woods Academy

A long-time resident of Arlington Heights, Colleen serves on various committees within the community including the Rolling Meadows Athletic Booster Board, Metropolis Soiree committee (eight years), Metropolis Gala committee (five years), and the Metropolis Wine Tasting committee (1 year). Colleen is an Occupational Therapist at Clare Woods Academy in Wheaton; she has been an O.T. for 30 years working in education, rehabilitation and traumatic head injury. Colleen is passionate about education, where she has spent the majority of her career working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, parents, and administration. Colleen and her husband Dave are active community members and share their philanthropic values with their children Jonathan, a Junior at Iowa State, and daughter Hannah, a Senior at Rolling Meadows High School.

 

Gary L. Gephart - CPA, Treasurer

Retired Financial Executive

Gary retired in June 2015 from his position as Assistant Vice President of Finance at NorthShore University HealthSystem in Evanston, Illinois. He then served as Interim Controller at Northwest Community Healthcare in Arlington Heights from June 2015 till June 2016, He now serves as a financial consultant at the hospital and is generally enjoying retirement. Gary and his late wife, Linda, moved to Arlington Heights in 1977. They were active with the Boy Scouts of America (Troop 32 and Pack 169) with their son, Geoffrey. Gary is a CPA and has a M.S. degree in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and has served the non-profit healthcare industry for the past 35+ years. He is an active volunteer with his church, St. John UCC, and with The Night Ministry. Gary is an avid theatergoer and has been attending Metropolis events from day one. He is proud to be a member of the Metropolis Board of Directors and thrilled to pass on his love for the performing arts to his two grandchildren.

 

Allison Orr, Secretary

Event Manager, Jam Theatricals

Allison is thrilled to return to Metropolis and serve on the Board of Directors. She grew up in Arlington Heights, and discovered her love for the performing arts while attending Metropolis' Curtains Up! summer camp. Allison founded a student-run theatre company and stayed involved at Metropolis from 2005-2013. She graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a B.A. in Performing Arts Management, and has had the pleasure of working at Ravinia Festival, Broadway in Chicago, Steppenwolf, and more. Allison currently works for Jam Theatricals, a nine-time Tony-award winning theatrical presenter, producer, and promoter. She holds a graduate certificate in Nonprofit Governance from North Park University and currently attends Roosevelt University Master of Business Administration program. Allison is a proud member of the League of Chicago Theatres Young Professionals Circle. Metropolis and the School of Performing Arts are gifts to be supported and cherished in our community. Carol Cohen

Executive Director, Haven Theatre Company

Carol is the Executive Director of the Jeff Award-winning Haven Theatre Company located at The Den Theatre in Wicker Park, Chicago. Carol attended Columbia College of Chicago majoring in Theater with concentrations in Costume Design, Dramaturgy, and Theater Management. Over the course of her career, Carol has produced, costumed, or directed over 50 theatrical productions. Carol was very active with the local school board, and served on the marketing committee for the Lake Zurich District 95 Referendum Committee, which successfully passed the referendum which allowed the Lake Zurich High School Performing Arts Center to be funded and built.

Past board experience includes the CUSD 95 Referendum Committee and the Farmington Bath and Tennis Club; Carol also served as PTO President for several years. Carol lives in Kildeer and is the mother of two grown sons, and the grandmother to two.

 

Chris Dungan

President of Corporate & Business Development, PACK Pharmaceuticals (Retired)

A 20+ year veteran in developing and implementing sales strategies, Chris is a Founder and President of PACK Pharmaceuticals up until its acquisition in 2014. He began his career in 1990, working in marketing and sales for a generic pharmaceutical company and has held executive sales and marketing positions with various pharmaceutical companies. In early 2003, Chris co-founded Pharmaceutical Sales Consultants, LLC and later PACK Pharmaceuticals, LLC. Chris grew up in Northbrook, IL and earned his B.S. in Business Marketing from Eastern Illinois University. He now lives in Arlington Heights with his wife Sue and two children. Chris enjoys being involved at Metropolis—serving on several committees as well as being a subscriber through the Marquee Program, where he has the opportunity to meet and socialize with other Metropolis supporters, and staff and cast members.

 

Jim Mitchell

Owner of Mitchell Marketing Management

Jim Mitchell has a diverse background in marketing, video production, and public relations. His career began in video production where he won multiple awards for writing, producing, and directing a wide range of programs. Mitchell Marketing Management works with clients ranging from Fortune 100 companies to Arlington Heights-based businesses. Jim’s expertise includes managing projects, creating marketing strategies, facilitating creative development, and overseeing public relations initiatives.

Jim is active in the community; currently serving on the Board of Trustees for Saint Viator High School (’77) and acting as Volunteer Coordinator for the Chicago Alumni for Marquette University. Jim was involved in the original marketing plan for Metropolis and has remained active with the theater throughout its history—sponsoring various events and subscribing to the theater’s series.
